LabTech 123, also known briefly as Doctor 123, is one of several LabTechs who worked for G-Corp.

History[]

Around late-1999, a group of researchers including 123 were hand-selected by Johnny K. Gambino to head the research at G-Corp following Edmund's retirement from the company. These researchers, dubbed "LabTechs", worked in a high security laboratory within Gambino's newly-constructed mansion on Isle de Gambino. Here, 123 and his colleagues conducted morally dubious experiments seeking to unravel the powers of life and death and helped push G-Corp into a new era of innovation.[2]

The mansion disaster[]

In the events leading up to Halloween 2004, 123 was incredibly busy filing paperwork for the company. On October 20th, LabTech 101 helped him briefly gain access to the internet so he could secretly post a journal entry. Work resumed as usual, updating his journal once again on the 24th to say that he planned to update again soon. However, that would never happen.[5]

Several Gaians noticed 123's absence during the Halloween Bash and LabTech062's Retirement Party on the 30th. This turned out to be a stoke of luck that ensured he avoided becoming infected and zombified like the rest of his colleagues. His whereabouts during the Silent Flash explosion are unknown.

Aftermath of the disaster[]

123 resurfaced months later, the sole survivor of the LabTechs, at the Second Gaian Anniversary Ball in February. During the event, he wandered around absentmindedly, saying random phrases in Chinese and handing out party favors.

Sometime after, he rebranded himself as Doctor 123 and began work at a local free clinic on Isle de Gambino. When Ian and Sasha found Gino Gambino washed ashore in early August, he assisted the young socialite in making a full recovery. Aiding this process along, 123 prescribed an unknown medication to Gino which Ian would later find.[1]

Returning to the lab[]

Nearing the one year anniversary of the explosion one year prior, Gino rebuilt G-Corp's laboratory hoping to follow in his father's footsteps. This time 123 was chosen to head the research and, reassuming the LabTech title, help bring Gambino's vision back to life. With lots of planning and careful precautions, 123 was finally able to recreate the G-Virus using a DNA sample from the remaining grunny test subjects.[4]

However immediately following his discovery, LabTech X emerged from within the lab, stealing a sample of the virus before releasing all of the grunnies from their cages and cutting power to the facility, inciting yet another outbreak.[4][6] Somehow against all odds, 123 managed to survive the ordeal a second time.

Throwback events[]

Ten years later, a somewhat amnesiac 123 returned to announce Labtech Week in March 2015.[7][8]

Then during the Throwback! Spring Party! event in May, he updated his journal for the first time since October 2004, expressing a desire to revive G-Corp once again and interviewed several applicants until finally settling on one new hire.[9] He also attended general festivities while waiting for applications to roll in.[7][10]

Development[]

The official LabTech123 account was created on October 19th, 2004.[11] He was created alongside the other twelve LabTechs right before the creation of the G-Corp guild.[3] Like the other LabTech accounts, he posted his journal in the form of a guild forum thread. His thread began on the 20th with a short post and then continued on the 28th with an entry dated for the 24th.[5]
